This paper discusses questions such as: Jesus was made sin, God forsake Jesus, how much punishment did Jesus receive after death, and did Jesus die spiritually. All scriptures are from the King James' version Bible.

INDUCTIVE COMMENTS:

THEME: Jesus did not sin at any time. He died in His flesh and body only to pay for our sins.

2 Corinthians 5:19-21 "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." The New International version Bible replaces sin with sin offering. What do other King James scriptures state about the offering becoming sinful?

Leviticus 6:25-27 "Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, saying, This is the law of the sin offering: In the place where the burnt offering is killed shall the sin offering be killed before the LORD: it is most holy. The priest that offereth it for sin shall eat it: in the holy place shall it be eaten, in the court of the tabernacle of the congregation. Whatsoever shall touch the flesh thereof shall be holy: and when there is sprinkled of the blood thereof upon any garment, thou shalt wash that whereon it was sprinkled in the holy place." The sin offering remains holy thru out the sacrifice, and even the priest that ate it became holy.

PURPOSE: Jesus died in our place in His flesh and body only. Jesus did not die in His spirit since He never sinned. God was within Jesus during his death since Jesus is God and He can not sin.

KEY VERSE: God was within Christ so that Jesus was perfect without sin blemish or spot.

Hebrews 9:14 "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" Jesus remained holy throughout the time of the offering. He was holy at & after death also. Jesus offered himself, no one took his life.

1 Peter 1:18-19 "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:" Jesus, like the lamb offered in the Old Testament,

WHO: God mainly by Bible authors Luke, John, Peter, and Paul

TO WHOM: Elected Christians

WHAT: Jesus did not die in His spirit since He never sinned.  God was within Jesus during his death since Jesus is God and He can not sin.

WHY: Jesus is God and God can not sin since He is perfect and holy.

2 Corinthians 5:19 "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation." God did not forsake Jesus. However, Jesus felt he did. Scripture shows God was, in fact, in Christ the entire time Jesus is on the cross.

Colossians 2:9 "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." Just who is Jesus? He is God. How can God forsake God, when their is only one God? Jesus Spirit died teaching would have light become darkness, life become death, and truth become lies.

John 1:1-18 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ."

John 14:8 "Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?" Jesus Spirit is God. It can't die, since He is Eternal: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. How can the Eternal Son die? He can't, but Jesus, God in flesh, died in his body.

WAY: Jesus was a perfect substitution for us. The pain and death was real. We deserved that death, but Jesus became our sin offering in His flesh and body only and not in His spirit.

1 Peter 2:24 "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."

1 Peter 4:1 "Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;"

Colossians 1:22 "In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:"

Ephesians 1:7 "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"

WHEREAS: Jesus died in His flesh and body only.

Luke 23:43 "And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." Jesus went to paradise and did not suffer the 3 days from Good Friday to his resurrection.

1 Peter 3:18-20 "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water." Jesus preached, proclaimed, in hades.

Revelation 1:18 "I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death." He took the keys of hell from Satan.

John 19:30 "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost." Jesus meant the entire atonement, suffering was finish.

Luke 23:46 "And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost." Jesus knew his spirit was going to God.

WHERE: Israel

WHEN: During Jesus Ministry

WHILE: People may have many doctrinal errors, but if the atonement is correct, they have not missed salvation, only earthly blessings.

WANT:God wants to take us to a heavenly reign.

Ephesians 4:8-10 "Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)" Jesus brought the saints from paradise to heaven.

I) WAS JESUS MADE SIN?

2 Corinthians 5:19-21 "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." The New International version Bible replaces sin with sin offering. What does other King James scriptures state about the offering becoming sinful?

John 10:17-18 "Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father."

Ephesians 5:2 "And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour."

Hebrews 10:10 "By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." These New Testament scriptures support a sin offering as also the Old Testament scripture of the type Jesus must have fulfilled. Jesus was holy, pure, and without spot the whole time on the cross.

1 Peter 1:18-19 "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:" Jesus, like the lamb offered in the Old Testament,

was without blemish and spot during the entire sacrifice & after.

II) DID GOD FORSAKE JESUS WHILE ON THE CROSS?

Mark 15:34 "And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" Jesus certainly can't lie. Jesus was not saying this to just fulfill the Old Testament.

Psalms 22:1 "To the chief Musician upon Aijeleth Shahar, A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?"

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Jesus was a perfect substitution for us. The pain and death was real. We deserved that death, but Jesus became our sin offering.

See my paper: "Between Jesus' Death & Resurrection What did He Accomplish?" JESUS CONQUERED SATAN, TOOK HIS POWER & LOOSED PARADISE for more information on this subject.

See my paper: "Resurrection" JESUS RESURRECTION IS THE CENTER OF OUR FAITH IN THE BIBLE; END TIMES RESURRECTIONS OF THE RIGHTEOUS & WICKED ARE DISCUSSED. for more information on this subject.

III) JESUS WAS OUR EXAMPLE:

Hebrews 2:10 "For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings."

Leviticus 16:10 "But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat,..and to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness."

Hebrews 5:8-9 "Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;"

When Jesus borne our sin, the Father allowed the Old Testament scapegoat type to occur in Jesus. The scapegoat was sent into the wilderness which is a type of absents of God's presents. Jesus experienced, as for the first time, his prayer not being answered.

Psalms 22:1-2 "To the chief Musician upon Aijeleth Shahar, A Psalm of David. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent." Jesus cried out. "My God, My God..."

We must understand that Jesus was in excruciating pain in his flesh and mind. Only 24 hours before, Jesus sweat as if drops of blood.

Luke 22:42-43 "Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground."

Acts 14:22 "Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God." We too must suffer.

2 Thessalonians 1:4-5 "So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:" Could some of these people also say: My God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Hebrews 11:36-38 "And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth." Like Jesus, they died in faith. They did not become sinners or while suffering have God forsake them.

IV) HOW MUCH PUNISHMENT DID JESUS RECEIVED?

People may have many doctrinal errors, but if the atonement is correct, they have not missed salvation, only earthly blessings.
