OVERVIEW OF GODHEAD RELATIONSHIP

By Dennis Schmidt 8/2011

RETURN TO THE: BIBLE PAPERS HOME PAGE

This paper discusses a relationship that each of us can have with God. Each of the ways that the Godhead shows himself in his triune manifestations are presented. The Christian can have a three fold experience with God in each of His manifestation as Father, Son, & Holy Ghost. All scriptures are from the King James' version Bible.

INDUCTIVE COMMENTS:

THEME: Jesus is called the mighty God, counselor (Holy Spirit), and Father.

Isaiah 9:6  Jesus is called counsellor (Spirit), everlasting Father (Father), and mighty God (Godhead).

John 14:8-9  Jesus said, as you see me, you see the Father.

PURPOSE: God wants His elected believers to know Him in His fullness.

2 Corinthians 13:14  We should be having communion with the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 1:2  If the entire Godhead is at work in every task, then we should worship & fellowship with the entire Godhead.

KEY VERSE: Jesus is called the mighty God, counselor (Holy Spirit), and Father.

Isaiah 9:6  Jesus is called the Counselor (Spirit), everlasting Father (Father), and mighty God (Godhead).

John 14:8-9  Jesus said, as you see me, you see the Father.

WHO: God mainly by Bible authors Moses, Isaiah, Matthew, Luke, John, and Paul

TO WHOM: Elected Christians and Jews

WHAT: Israel's relationship should have been with the entire Godhead.

Isaiah 63:8-10  The Father is calling them his children. Jesus is the angel who saved and redeemed them. The Holy Spirit is vexed by them.

Isaiah 48:16  Jesus is speaking. The Father and the Holy Spirit have sent Jesus. Presented was the united one God in his three manifestations.

Exodus 23:20-21  God alone can pardon transgressions. Therefore, the angel is God.

WHY:

Deuteronomy 6:4

Hebrews 9:14

All three manifestations of God are involved in redemption process.

Genesis 1:26 All three manifestations of God are involved in creation process.

Genesis 11:7  All three manifestations of God are involved in judgment process.

Colossians 2:9  Jesus on earth was the entire Godhead.

WAY: Therefore, seeing the Father, Jesus or Spirit is seeing all of God. Jesus is not the Father or Holy Spirit, but Jesus is the full God. You can not divide God, saying there are three persons. This is not found in the scriptures. You can not compare God to a leaf or three states of water. God is one. To see Jesus is to see all of the Godhead bodily. Moses saw the Father and he also saw Jesus & Holy Spirit. God is omni-present: in all places at the same time.

The full Holy Spirit in one Christian is the same full Holy Spirit in another Christian. There are not two or more Holy Spirits.

Malachi 2:10

John 20:17  Christians have Jesus' Father as our Father and God.

WHEREAS: Our relationship with God, that started at salvation, continues with us moving into deeper heavenly places. We go on to taste the heavenly gift and the power of the world to come. Then we are made to sit with Christ before God the Father.

Ephesians 2:5-6  We are alive & raised in heaven in Christ.

Philippians 3:20

Colossians 3:1-4

Hebrews 6:4-5

Ephesians 1:10  God will gather all Christians, in heaven or earth, to put us in Christ.

WHERE: Everywhere in the universe as well as hell, heaven, and earth

WHEN: For all times God existed as fullness of the Godhead

WHILE: The one undivided God is eternally Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We are to have fellowship with Godhead, not with just the Son - Jesus.

2 Corinthians 13:14  We should be having communion with the Holy Spirit.

1 Peter 1:2  If the entire Godhead is at work in every task, then we should worship & fellowship with the entire Godhead.

WANT: God wants His elected believers to know Him in His fullness.
