OVERVIEW OF JESUS LIFE, EVENTS & IDENTITY

This paper discusses Jesus and who He is. Discussed are His life, events and identity mostly from the gospel books of Matthew, Luke, and John. Many of the subjects are covered more fully in my other papers which are referenced. All scriptures are from the King James' version Bible.

INDUCTIVE COMMENTS:

THEME: The entire world books could not tell the complete history, events, and identity of Jesus life, but the Bible provides enough that you may know and believe in Him.

John 21:24-25  These are a few scriptures about Jesus with more references.

1 John 1:1-3

PURPOSE: This paper showed a number of scriptures and other references, with more detailed, on the events and identity of Jesus life that you may believe in Him.

Colossians 2:9  Jesus is the one and only God, and He is also true man.

1 John 1:1-3

KEY VERSE:

Isaiah 9:6  Jesus, son of God, name is called the Father's name and Holy Spirit's name.  The Counselor, mighty God, and everlasting eternal Father

John 1:1-3   Jesus is the eternal God revealed by His Word: Bible

John 1:14  Jesus left His glory to become human.

WHO: God mainly by Bible authors Moses, Matthew, Luke, John, and Paul

TO WHOM: Elected Christians

WHAT: Some three hundred Old Testament scriptures predict events about Jesus.

Deuteronomy 18:15  Moses: This future prophet will be like Moses.

John 6:14  Jesus fulfilled Deuteronomy 18:15 and other prophecies.

1 Peter 1:10-11  Prophets saw little about the Messiah, His death, glory, and when He comes.

WHY: Jesus is God manifested to the world.

1 John 1:1-3

WAY: Jesus is present in the Old Testament as the angel of the Lord.

Exodus 13:21  The LORD Jesus was in cloud.

Exodus 23:20-21  The angel of the Lord is Jesus, God, who alone pardon sins.

WHEREAS: Jesus has always been king over His creation.  Jesus will return in His second coming and be on His Jerusalem throne for 1,000 years and then rule on the new earth forever.

1 Timothy 6:15

Revelation 17:14  Jesus is King of Kings. When He returns all will agree.

Zechariah 14:9  Jesus 2nd coming

Philippians 2:10-11  King Jesus

Luke 1:31-33  Jesus has always been, is presently & always will be king since He is the eternal God.

WHERE: Israel and everywhere

WHEN: All Times

WHILE: The One Godhead is a Triunity Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit that also exists at the same time and same place.

Deuteronomy 6:4  There is only one God, but the words used here show a plurality Godhead.

John 10:30  Jesus is the one God and the one LORD.

V) JESUS FATHER: Earthly: Joseph; Heavenly: God (born of the Spirit)

A) JOSEPH: Joseph becomes Jesus earthly Father when he marries Mary before Jesus birth in Bethlehem.

Matthew 13:55  Joseph was a carpenter by trade.

B) GOD HIS TRUE FATHER: There is only one Godhead so that both the Holy Spirit and the Father are Jesus parents in the seed of Jesus in Mary.

Luke 1:30-31  Mary was blessed and so are we as believers in Jesus.

John 19:25  Jesus mother & Mary wife of Cleophas are sisters.

Mark 15:40  Joses = Judas & James the less are Jesus cousins.

IX) JESUS AS A YOUNG JEWISH PERSON:

A) JESUS WAS CIRCUMCISED:

Genesis 17:10  God's commandment to all Jewish males.

B) JESUS WAS OFFERED TO THE LORD: God's commandment for Jewish males.

Luke 2:22-23  Jesus was the first male child of Mary (Jesus mother).

C) JESUS EDUCATION: Jesus was educated in the synagogue. He was taught how to read Hebrew using the scriptures. He learned about true Judaism and excelled in the religion.

X) JESUS JOB: As a traditional Jewish boy, Jesus would of learned His father's occupation of carpentry which he did until He was thirty years old.

XI) JESUS MINISTRY:

A) GOALS: Jesus goals are to show who God really is by: preach gospel, heal, deliver & die for Christians.

B) WHEN: Jesus started His ministry when He was thirty years old.

Numbers 4:47  Workers in the temple started ministry at thirty.

Luke 3:23  Jesus started His ministry at thirty.

C) WHERE: Israel. Starting in Galilee, Nazareth then to Cana and baptized at Jordan. Later through most of Israel into Jerusalem where He died and was resurrected. Jesus ascension was at Bethany.

Luke 23:46  The man Jesus died. God did not die.

XVI) JESUS PRESENT MINISTRY: Jesus is interceding for His believer's, preparing a home for His bride (the Church) and will come back for Christians.
