MISC: AMOS PROPHECIES FULFILLED IN NEW TESTAMENT {AMOS 1:17 – 1:21}

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

{Amos 9:11} In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:

{Acts 15:15-17} And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, {16} After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: {17} That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.

{Revelation 21:3} And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. God Himself – Jesus will be with them and be their God.

{Amos 9:13} Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.

{Isaiah 65:21-23} And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. {22} They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. {23} They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.

{Amos 9:14} And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.

{Jeremiah 29:14} And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

{Isaiah 32:18} And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places;

WHY: Because they have despised the law of the LORD, and have not kept his commandments

3 or 4 sins, Judah shall be punished because she despised God's law:

Moab, Judah & Israel all three are to be punished for 3 - 4 sins.

Amos 2:6 "Thus saith the LORD; For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away <the punishment> thereof; because they sold the [ righteous ] for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes;"

For three transgressions of Israel .. sold the righteous:

Amos 2:7 "That pant after the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, and turn aside the way of the meek: and a man and his father will go in unto the <same> maid, to profane my holy name:"

Amos 2:8 "And they lay <themselves> down upon clothes laid to pledge by every altar, and they drink the wine of the condemned <in> the house of their god."

Amos 2:9 "Yet destroyed I the Amorite before them, whose height <was> like the height of the cedars, and he <was> strong as the oaks; yet I destroyed his fruit from above, and his roots from beneath."

Amos 2:10 "Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, WHERE: to possess the land of the Amorite."

I brought you up from Egypt & led you 40 years through wilderness:

Exodus 6:7-8 "And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I <am> the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. {8} And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I <am> the LORD."

Amos 2:11 "And I raised up of your sons for prophets, and of your young men for Nazarites. <Is it> not even thus, O ye children of Israel? saith the LORD."

I raised up your sons for prophets: See Amos 3:7 for more details.

Prophets receive both direct revelation and inspiration, from God, on behalf of the body. They were preachers of righteousness that foretell the future, edified, encouraged, and strengthen.

Acts 15:32 "And Judas and Silas, being prophets also themselves, exhorted the brethren with many words, and confirmed <them>."

1 Corinthians 14:29-32 "Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge. {30} If <any thing> be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace. {31} For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted. {32} And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets."

See my paper: "Jesus as Prophet, Priest, & King" SCRIPTURES SHOWS JESUS AS A PROPHET, MELCHISEDEC PRIEST & ETERNAL KING for more information on this subject.

Your young men for Nazarites: Nazarities means separated or dedicated (See Numbers 6). Examples are as follows: Elijah, Samson (Judges 13:5-7), Samuel (1 Samuel 1:11), John - Baptist (Luke1:15)

Numbers 6:2 "Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When either man or woman shall separate <themselves> to vow a vow of a Nazarite, to separate <themselves> unto the LORD:"

Judges 13:5 "For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines."

Judges 13:7 "But he said unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean <thing>: for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death."

Amos 2:12 "But ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets, saying, Prophesy not."

Ye gave the Nazarites wine to drink:

Numbers 6:3-4 "He shall separate <himself> from wine and strong drink & shall drink no vinegar of wine, or vinegar of strong drink, neither shall he drink any liquor of grapes, nor eat moist grapes, or dried. {4} All the days of his separation shall he eat nothing that is made of the vine tree, from the kernels even to the husk."

Amos 2:13 "Behold, I am pressed under you, as a cart is pressed <that is> full of sheaves."

Amos 2:14 "Therefore the flight shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not strengthen his force, neither shall the mighty deliver himself:"

Amos 2:15 "Neither shall he stand that handleth the bow; and <he that is> swift of foot shall not deliver <himself>: neither shall he that rideth the horse deliver himself."

Amos 2:16 "And <he that is> courageous among the mighty shall flee away naked in that day, saith the LORD."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Prophet: A spokesman for another, as for God. Other names/titles in the Bible are as follows: Man of God; Servant of the Lord; Messenger of the Lord; and Seer (to see).

Exodus 7:1-2 "And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet. {2} Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land."

Numbers 11:29 "And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD'S people were prophets, <and> that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!"

Jeremiah 1:7 "But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I <am> a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak."

Amos 3:7-8 "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. {8} The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?"

1 Samuel 9:9 "(Beforetime in Israel, when a man went to inquire of God, thus he spake, Come, and let us go to the seer: for <he that is> now <called> a Prophet was beforetime called a Seer.)"

John 15:15 "Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you."

1 Corinthians 12:28 "And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, governments, diversities of tongues."

Prophet would meet the following:

- Spoke only in the name of the Lord (Yahweh).

- God had a special calling for him to by a prophet.

- His life matches his position. He did not practice divination.

- Do not assume signs and wonders prove his position.

- His God given prophecies came to pass.

Deuteronomy 13:1-3 "If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder, {2} And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them; {3} Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul."

2 Thessalonians 2:9 "<Even him>, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,"

- His message was in harmony with previous revelation. History will confirms his authenticity.

Deuteronomy 18:21-22 "And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? {22} When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that <is> the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, <but> the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him."

- Moral quality and spiritual essence of the message.

- Inner witness to the Holy Spirit believer.

- Test the prophets revelation against what the Bible states.

1 Corinthians 14:29 "Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge."

Holy Scriptures:

God's word is above that of His name:

Psalms 138:2 "I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name." God's words is most important.

Word of God is Jesus (God's name) who is in every Scriptures:

Isaiah 55:11 "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." The Bible, scriptures, are God's words.

Psalms 40:7 "Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book <it is> written of me," (fulfilled see Hebrews 10:7) The Bible is centered on Jesus (God) before & after He is manifested in flesh.

John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." Jesus is God & the Word of God.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Amos 3:8 "The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?"

Who can but prophesy:

Acts 4:20 "For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard."

Amos 3:9 "Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof."

Amos 3:10 "For they know not to do right, saith the LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces."

For they know not to do right:

Jeremiah 4:22 "For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge."

Amos 3:11 "Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; An adversary <there shall be> even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled."

Amos 3:12 "Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus <in> a couch."

Amos 3:13 "Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord GOD, the God of hosts,"

Amos 3:14 "That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground."

Bethel: Bethel means House of God. This is were Jacob's ladder occurred. After the split between Israel and Judah. The northern ten tribes set up Bethel where they sacrificed.Horns are powers of alter. Bethel is Israel's equal to Judah's Jeresalem temple.

1 Kings 12:32 "And Jeroboam ordained a feast in the eighth month, on the fifteenth day of the month, like unto the feast that is in Judah, and he offered upon the altar. So did he in Bethel, sacrificing unto the calves that he had made: and he placed in Bethel the priests of the high places which he had made."

Amos 3:15 "And I will smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the LORD."

B) RELIGIOUS ORTHODOXY: {AMOS 4:1 – 4:13}

Amos 4:1 "Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that <are> in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink."

Amos 4:2 "The Lord GOD hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks."

Amos 4:3 "And ye shall go out at the breaches, every <cow at that which is> before her; and ye shall cast <them> into the palace, saith the LORD."

WANT: Bring your sacrifices every morning, <and> your tithes after three years

Amos 4:4 "Come to Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, <and> your tithes after three years:"

Bring your sacrifices every morning, your tithes after 3 years:

The tithe is strongly suggested my many churches as a minimum for each person to give. This is law. Giving to get is works. We give out of love and guidance from God. God wants our all. He is Lord of our life & will direct his church. The New Testament does not teach tithe. See my paper: "What does God Really Want?" for more information.

Genesis 14:18-20 "And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he <was> the priest of the most high God. {19} And he blessed him, and said, Blessed <be> Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: {20} And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all." The tithe & sacrifice was before Moses.

Exodus 22:29 "Thou shalt not delay <to offer> the first of thy ripe fruits, and of thy liquors: the firstborn of thy sons shalt thou give unto me."

Malachi 3:10-11 "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that <there shall> not <be room> enough <to receive it>. {11} And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts."

Galatians 5:1 "Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Liberty from the law & love above all other things.

Amos 4:5 "And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim <and> publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord GOD."

Offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven:

Matthew 23:23 "Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone."

Romans 1:28 "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;"

Amos 4:6 "And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD."

Amos 4:7 "And also I have withholden the rain from you, when <there were> yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered."

Amos 4:8 "So two <or> three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD."

Amos 4:9 "I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured <them>: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD."

Amos 4:10 "I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD."

Amos 4:11 "I have overthrown <some> of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD."

WAY: Because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel

Amos 4:12 "Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: <and> because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel."

Israel, because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God:

Fasting:

Isaiah 58:3-7 "Wherefore have we fasted, <say they>, and thou seest not? <wherefore> have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours. {4} Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as <ye do this> day, to make your voice to be heard on high. {5} Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? <is it> to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes <under him>? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD? {6} <Is> not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? {7} <Is it> not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?"

Examples of fasting:

To stand in gap for people:

Deuteronomy 9:18 "And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which ye sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger."

To learn God's will:

Ezra 8:21 "Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance."

To stand in gap for healing country:

2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

To heal child for parents sin:

2 Samuel 12:16 "David therefore besought God for the child; and David fasted, and went in, and lay all night upon the earth."

To heal someone:

Matthew 17:21 "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting."

Amos 7:14 "Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I <was> no prophet, neither <was> I a prophet's son; but I <was> an herdman, and a gatherer of sycamore fruit:"

Amos was a herdman, a gatherer of sycamore fruit and not a prophet's son:

Amos 8:5 "Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?"

WHY: We may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; <yea>, and sell the refuse of the wheat

Amos 8:6 "That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; <yea>, and sell the refuse of the wheat?"

WHEN: It shall come to pass in that day

Amos 8:9 "And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:"

WAY: I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day

I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:

Exodus 10:21-23 "And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heaven, that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even darkness which may be felt. {22} And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days: {23} They saw not one another, neither rose any from his place for three days: but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings."

Job 5:14 "They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope in the noonday as in the night."

Isaiah 13:10 "For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine."

Amos 8:10 "And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only <son>, and the end thereof as a bitter day."

WHAT: I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD

Amos 8:11 "Behold, the days come, saith t`he Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:"

Micah 3:4 "Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings."

WHILE: They shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find <it>

Amos 8:12 "And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find <it>."

They shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it:

Romans 11:7-10 "What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded {8} (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. {9} And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them: {10} Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway."

Amos 8:13 "In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst."

WHO: Amos

Amos 9:1 "I saw the Lord standing upon the altar: and he said, Smite the lintel of the door, that the posts may shake: and cut them in the head, all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the sword: he that fleeth of them shall not flee away, and he that escapeth of them shall not be delivered."

Amos 9:2 "Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down:"

Though they dig into hell, they climb up to heaven:

Psalms 139:7-10 "Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? {8} If I ascend up into heaven, thou <art> there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou <art there>. {9} <If> I take the wings of the morning, <and> dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; {10} Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me."

Amos 9:3 "And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and he shall bite them:"

WHY: I will set mine eyes upon them for evil

Amos 9:4 "And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good."

WHAT: The eyes of the Lord GOD <are> upon the sinful kingdom

Amos 9:8 "Behold, the eyes of the Lord GOD <are> upon the sinful kingdom, and I will destroy it from off the face of the earth; saving that I will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob, saith the LORD."

IV) ISRAEL RESTORATION PROMISE: {AMOS 9:11 – 9:15}

Amos 9:11 "In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:"

In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen:

2 Samuel 6:17 "And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD."

Isaiah 16:5 "And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness."

Acts 2:30-36 "Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; {31} He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. {32} This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. {33} Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. {34} For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, {35} Until I make thy foes thy footstool. {36} Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ."

Acts 15:15-17 "And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written, {16} After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: {17} That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things."

Revelation 21:3 "And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God." God Himself – Jesus will be with them and be their God.

WHEN: Days come

Amos 9:13 "Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt."

WAY: He plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed

The days come, Lord saith, that the plowman overtake the reaper:
