This paper discusses grace or unmerited flavor from God to His Christians. Grace is getting from God a gift that we do not deserve. God gives the gift of grace to whoever He wishes & only gives kindness (not grace) to the unbeliever. All scriptures are from the King James' version Bible.

INDUCTIVE COMMENTS:

THEME:

GRACE IS A GIFT FROM GOD: God grace, by gift of Jesus grace, to Christians by a measure of faith. He called us not according to our works but His own purpose & grace given before world.

Romans 5:15 "But not as the offence, so also <is> the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, <which is> by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many"Jesus is the source of grace given as a gift to the Christian.

Romans 12:3 "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." God dealt measure of faith.

1 Corinthians 1:4 "I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;" Grace come from Jesus as a gift.

Ephesians 4:7 "But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ." The Christian is given a measured gift of grace.

2 Timothy 1:9 "Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began," Grace given to God's Christians before world began.

PURPOSE:

COMPARE - OFFENSE (SIN) LEADING TO DEATH & GIFT OF GRACE TO LIFE: Sin by Adam lead to death & the grace of gift of righteousness by Jesus life & ministry lead to life.

Romans 5:15-21 "But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. {16} And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. {17} or if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) {18} Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. {19} For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. {20} Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: {21} That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord." Gift of grace vs. law

God's grace makes us what we are and what we will be. We still need to labor with God's help so the grace will not be vain.

1 Corinthians 15:10 "But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me." God's grace within the Christian drives him to labor for God.

KEY VERSE:

1 Corinthians 15:10 "But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me." God's grace within the Christian drives him to labor for God.

WHY:

THE CHRISTIAN'S RELATIONSHIP OF GRACE OR SIN & LAW: Christians are to be dead to sin, not under law, & not live in sin that grace they abound. They know that righteousness comes not by law but by Christ, & they are not to frustrate grace but are justified by Christ not law

Romans 6:1-2 "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? {2} God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?" God's grace abounds.

Romans 6:14-15 "For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. {15} What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid." If under grace sin does not dominate the Christian because he is not under the law.

WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE: Salvation is an unmerited gift from God to whoever He desires.

Through the grace of Jesus we are saved, make us heirs of eternal life, & will not withhold good.

It is given freely by God (Psalms 84:11). Both Jews & Christians are saved by grace not by works.

LASTING GRACE: God is blessing us during this age or dispensation of grace & in future ages. God will show His exceeding riches of His grace toward us through Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:7 "That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus." Looking back we will see God's grace toward us.

Ephesians 3:2 "If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:" We live in the dispensation or age of grace.

XI) GRACE CONCLUSION: God's grace makes us what we are and what we will be.
