John 1:1, 14 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.....{14) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

PURPOSE: Holy Scriptures show other names and titles for Jesus that teaches about His character.

REDEEMER: Purchased, buy back, work for, & balance the books.

Job 19:25 "For I know <that> my redeemer liveth, and <that> he shall stand at the latter <day> upon the earth:"

KEY VERSE:

CHRIST: Messiah, anointed one, chosen one.

WHAT: Holy Scriptures show other names and titles for Jesus as God that teaches about His character.

EVERLASTING (ETERNAL) FATHER: Always exists.

WHY: To show that Jesus is God and many characteristics for Jesus.

JESUS: Savior, healer.

Matthew 1:21 "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Jesus = He shall save His people or savior.

The name is from the Hebrew name Y'hoshua (Y'- Yah: the Lord; and shun: to be freed, salvation, aid, deliverance) making the Greek name Joshua. The name means the Lord will save, the Lord of salvation or the Lord the savior. Others have had the name Jesus.

WAY: In Jesus titles and names many other characteristics are shown for Jesus as God.

GOD: Spirit, who created, controls and substances all things.

John 20:28 "Thomas answered & said unto him, My Lord and my God."

HIGH PRIEST: Mediator between man & God, self giving, sacrifices.

1 Timothy 2:5 "For <there is> one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"

Hebrews 4:14 "Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast <our> profession."

WHEREAS:

MESSIAH: Christ, anointed one, chosen one.

John 1:41 "He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ."

MIGHTY GOD: Spirit, who created, controls & substances all things.

PROPHET: Foretells future, teaches, informs, interfaces between God and man.

RESURRECTION & LIFE: Restore life, life eternal, and quicken to life.

John 11:25 "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:"

RIGHTEOUS: Just, without partiality.

(A):

(1) ADAM: The last Adam.

1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

(2) ADVOCATE: Lawyer, presents your case, stands beside you.

1 John 2:1 "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:"

(7) ANOINTED: Chosen by God for ministry, anointed with oil by Priest, Prophet, or Apostle.

Psalm 2:2 "The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying,"

Acts 10:38 "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil."

(8) AUTHOR: The writer of plan and composer.

Hebrews 5:9 "And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;"

Hebrews 12:2 "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of <our> faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."

(1) BABE: Jesus as God being born as man in His early childhood.

Luke 2:16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

(2) BEGINNING OF THE CREATION OF GOD: Jesus is God who created of all things.

Revelation 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

(3) BEGOTTEN OF THE FATHER: Jesus born of God the Father.

(4) BELOVED: God loves His chosen elected Christians.

Ephesians 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

(5) BISHOP: Jesus is our pastor, teacher, guide and leader to all our needs.

1 Peter 2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

(6) BLESSED: Jesus is the might God who is blessed and blesses us.

1 Timothy 6:15 "Which in his times he shall show, <who is> the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

(7) BRANCH: Supplies the nutrient, sustenance of life, Holy Spirit.

Zechariah 6:12-13 "And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name <is> The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD: {13} Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both."

Isaiah 11:1-2 "And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: {2} And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;"

(8) BREAD OF LIFE: Satisfies, strengthens & sustains. Law vs faith.

John 6:32, 35 "Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.....{35} And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst."

(9) BRIDEGROOM: We will be married to Jesus in the last days.

Matthew 9:15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.

(10) BRIGHT AND MORNING STAR: Morning brightness, lighting way, and opening eyes of hearer to truth.

Revelation 22:16 "I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star."

(C):

(1) CAPTAIN: Jesus is the Holy leader of His people.

Joshua 5:14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? {15} And the captain of the LORD'S host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.

(2) CHRIST: Jesus is the Messiah, anointed one, chosen one.

(3) CARPENTER: Before Jesus started His ministry of earth at 30, He was a carpenter.

Mark 6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

(4) CHIEF SHEPHERD: Jesus is our guide, leader, and pastor of His people.

1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

(5) COMMANDER: Jesus is the Holy leader of His people.

Isaiah 55:4 Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people.

(6) CONSOLATION OF ISRAEL: Comfort to Israel.

Luke 2:25 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.

(7) CORNER-STONE: Main foundation, center supports, entire structure.

Isaiah 28:16 "Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner <stone>, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste"

Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

(3) DELIVERS: Jesus will deliver Israel in end days of its enemies.

(4) DESIRER OF NATIONS: Jesus will come to the temple as a baby as solution of all nations peoples sins.

Haggai 2:7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.

(5) DOOR: Person, method, technique, manner to enter life & fill needs.

John 10:9 "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture."

(1) EMMANUEL: God as man lives with us.

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel

Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

(6) FOUNTAIN: Jesus is the source of life pure water of salvation to us.

Zechariah 13:1 In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.

(7) FRIEND OF SINNERS: Jesus is a friend to all sinners who saved us from those sins.

Matthew 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.

(G):

(1) GIFT OF GOD: Jesus, God's only begotten son, is the unspeakable gift to mankind.

2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift.

(2) GLORY OF GOD: Jesus is the light of glory as the Godhead become man.

Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

(3) GOD: Spirit, who created, controls and substances all things.

Hebrews 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

(6) GOVERNOR: High officer, great authority, mighty.

Matthew 2:6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

(7) GUIDE: Protects, provides, leads, and heals.

Psalm 48:14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

(1) HEAD OF THE CHURCH: Jeus is th high officer, great authority, mighty leader of God to direct the Church.

Colossians 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

(2) HEIR OF ALL THINGS: Jesus is the ruler, guide, king, who sets standards, & administrates.

Hebrews 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

(3) HIGH PRIEST: Jesus is our High Priest, Mediator between man & God, self giving, sacrifices.

Hebrews 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

(4) HOLY CHILD: Perfectly pure, chosen, baby born of His mother Mary, for task by God, set aside by God.

Acts 4:30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

(5) HOLY ONE OF GOD: Perfectly pure, chosen for task by God, set aside by God.

Mark 1:24 "Saying, Let <us> alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God."

(6) HOLY ONE OF ISRAEL: Perfectly pure, chosen, for task by God, set aside by God.

Isaiah 41:14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

(7) HORN OF SALVATION: Jesus is the chief healer, restores, redeems, in place of, & purchases.

Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

(1) I AM: Jesus always exists and is in the now.

John 8:58 "Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am."

(2) IMMANUEL: Jesus as God's real presents with us.

(2) KING OF ISRAEL: Jesus is the king of king over Israel and all mankind.

(1) LAMB OF GOD: Jesus was sacrificed as the lamb of God for our sins.

(2) LAWGIVER: Jesus completely forfilled all the law by love given us His commandment to love God, others, and love as He loved us.

Isaiah 33:22 For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.

(3) LIGHT OF THE WORLD: Purpose of being, satisfaction, joy, peace, and love.

John 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

(4) LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH: Jesus is from the Jewish kingly tribe of Judah.
