This paper discusses Imputation, Reckoned, and Counted for Jesus righteousness to us from God and removal of our sins to Jesus. All scriptures are from the King James, version Bible.

INDUCTIVE COMMENTS:

THEME: Jesus was imputed with man's sin, but he did not sin Himself. The imputation of our sins to Jesus, and His righteousness imputed to us is the means of making the Gospel personal to us. It is not the historical facts of Jesus death, burial, & resurrection which regenerates us, but the regenerative act by God in us.

2 Corinthians 5:17-21 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. {18} And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; {19} To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. {20} Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. {21} For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him" Righteousness G1343; sin is sin offering; Reckon G3049

PURPOSE: Jesus was imputed with man's sin, but he did not sin Himself. The imputation of our sins to Jesus, and His righteousness imputed to us is the means of making the Gospel personal to us. It is not the historical facts of Jesus death, burial, & resurrection which regenerates us, but the regenerative act by God in us.

Romans 8:18-19 "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. {19} For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God."  The Christian reckons his sufferings are not compared with his manifestation as a Sons of God.

Philippians 3:13-14 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, {14} I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."  Forget past sins & failures & count oneself to apprehend the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 11:17-19 "By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son. {18} Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: {19} Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure."  By faith, Abraham received promise accounting God can raise you up to receive your callings.

KEY VERSE: Jesus was imputed with man's sin, but he did not sin Himself. The imputation of our sins to Jesus, and His righteousness imputed to us is the means of making the Gospel personal to us. It is not the historical facts of Jesus death, burial, & resurrection which regenerates us, but the regenerative act by God in us.

WHO: God mainly by Bible authors Moses, David, and Paul

TO WHOM: Elected Christians

WHAT: Jesus was imputed with man's sin, but he did not sin Himself.

Philippians 3:6-10 "Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless. {7} But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. {8} Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, {9} And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: {10} That I may know him, & the power of his resurrection, & the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death"  Paul's works were as dung as compared with God's righteousness being excellent.

WHY: Jesus was reckoned with the Christian's sins.  The imputation of our sins to Jesus, and His righteousness imputed to us is the means of our salvation.

Isaiah 53:12 "Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors." H4487

Mark 15:28 "And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors." Numbered G3049

Luke 22:37 "For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end."Reckon G3049

Jesus was numbered/reckoned as a sinner, but He never sinned in the flesh nor on the cross where He bared the sins of many. In 2 Corinthians 5:19 above, God was in Christ on the cross.

WAY:

IMPUTATION: Means the merits of Christ are legally charged to the Christian, to their account. They are saved, justified, made a child and heir with Jesus. At the same time, Jesus righteousness, through God's grace, entitled the Christian to all that salvation offers of eternal life both on earth and in heaven. The Christian does not have a righteousness within himself. He gains Christ's righteousness. The Christian's sins are also imputed to Christ. Christ does not have sin within Himself. Jesus bears the Christian's sins.

2 Corinthians 5:21 "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." Correct words are: made him to be sin offering for us.

Other words for imputed are: reckon, count, made, charge, declare, & credit to another account.

WHEREAS: Adam's sin was imputed on all mankind; Jesus righteousness is imputed to Christians by God's grace unto justification of life:

Romans 5:12-14 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: {13} (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. {14} Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come." Imputed G1677

Romans 5:17-18 "For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) {18} Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life."

Mankind was imputed with the sin of Adam; Christians are imputed with the righteousness of Jesus. This transfer of righteousness by one Jesus and sin by one Adam legally balances God's scales of justice for the Christian. This allows God to be both just & justifier of man back to God.

Romans 3:26 "To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus."

WHERE: Earth

WHEN: All Times

WHILE: The Christian is to reckoned himself to be dead to sin:

Romans 6:10-12 "For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. {11} Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. {12} Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof." G3049  Christians are to reckon themselves dead to sins and alive unto Jesus.

WANT:

Philemon 18-19 "If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account; {19} I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides" Put, on, & Account G1677 Charge to Paul, Onesimus (run away slave) debt, who would repay any loss to Philemon's. God's used Paul as the instrument to lead Philemon to salvation thereby Philemon owned Paul a greater debt.

Romans 4:1-5 "What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found? {2} For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. {3} For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. {4} Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. {5} But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness." G3049 Neither Abraham or us are justified by our works (efforts) but by our faith God imputes Jesus righteousness to us. It is by God's grace to provide our faith in God and His righteousness reckon.

Romans 4:6-9 "Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works, {7} Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. {8} Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin."G3049  God by grace offers to impute righteousness in place of our sin by forgiving & covering our sins.

Romans 4:9-20 "Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness. {10} How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. {11} And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: {12} And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised. {13} For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. {14} For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect: {15} Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. {16} Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, {17} (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. {18} Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. {19} And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah's womb: {20} He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;" G3049  The promise was not through law, but by righteousness of faith by God's grace while Abraham was still uncircumcised so he is the father of believers in God's righteousness of Jesus

Romans 4:21-25 "And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. {22} And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. {23} Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; {24} But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; {25} Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification." Imputed G3049  Imputed righteousness of God to those that believe in the ministry of Jesus.

Galatians 3:6-8 "Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. {7} Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. {8} And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed." G3049  The scriptures foresaw both Gentile & Jewish Christians justified by faith as Abraham children.

James 2:23 "And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God."  Just like Abraham, the Christian is to believe God & that will impute God's righteousness to him.

WAIT:

Thought H2803  Joseph's brothers put him in slavery for evil reasons. God changed their thoughts to be for good.

IV) JESUS IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS IS TRANSFERRED FOR OUR SINS:

- Jesus was imputed with man's sin, but he did not sin Himself. The imputation of our sins to Jesus, and His righteousness imputed to us is the means of making the Gospel personal to us. And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: {10} That I may know him, & the power of his resurrection, & the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death"

VI) ADAM'S SIN WAS IMPUTED ON ALL MANKIND; JESUS RIGHTEOUSNESS IS IMPUTED TO CHRISTIANS BY GOD'S GRACE UNTO JUSTIFICATION OF LIFE:

Romans 5:12-14 "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: {13} (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law. {14} Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come." Imputed G1677

Romans 5:17-18 "For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

{18} Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life."

- Mankind was imputed with the sin of Adam; Christians are imputed with the righteousness of Jesus.

See my paper: "Grace" DEFINITION OF GRACE; GRACE FOR BELIEVERS; ONLY KINDNESS TO UNBELIEVERS; GRACE GROWTH; GRACE SAVES for more information on this subject.

VII) THE CHRISTIAN IS TO RECKONED HIMSELF TO BE DEAD TO SIN:

Romans 6:10-12 "For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. {11} Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. {12} Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof." G3049

- Christians are to reckon themselves dead to sins and alive unto Jesus.

See my paper: "The One God - The Shama" THE KEY BIBLE SCRIPTURE FOR ONE GOD IS DEUTERONOMY 6:4. THE WORD FOR GOD IS A PLURALITY, & THE WORD FOR ONE IS A COMPOUND UNITY. THIS IS THE CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE FOR GOD WHO IS A TRIUNITY PLURALITY ONE UNITY. for more information on this subject.

VIII) CONCLUSIONS:

Romans 8:18-19 "For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. {19} For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God."

- The Christian reckons his sufferings are not compared with his manifestation as a Sons of God.

Philippians 3:13-14 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, {14} I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus." G3049

- Forget past sins & failures & count oneself to apprehend the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Hebrews 11:17-19 "By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son. {18} Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called: {19} Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure."

- By faith, Abraham received promise accounting God can raise you up to receive your callings.
