This paper discusses the book of Titus. Paul writes to Titus to ordain elders to teach truth since there will be false teachers coming even out of the church to steal away the flock. Thirteen references are made to Titus in scriptures including a Bible book written to him. A lot of the false teachings came from the Corinthians church which was the reason for Paul's second letter sent by Titus to them. All scriptures are from the King James' version Bible.

MISC: TITUS SCRIPTURE REFENCES {TITUS 1:4}

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Acts 20:28-30 "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. {29} For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. {30} Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them."

2 Corinthians 2:13 I had no rest in my spirit, because I found not Titus my brother: but taking my leave of them, I went from thence into Macedonia.

2 Corinthians 7:6-7 Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus; {7} And not by his coming only, but by the consolation wherewith he was comforted in you, when he told us your earnest desire, your mourning, your fervent mind toward me; so that I rejoiced the more.

2 Corinthians 7:13-14 Therefore we were comforted in your comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.

2 Corinthians 8:6 Insomuch that we desired Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also finish in you the same grace also.

2 Corinthians 8:16-17 But thanks be to God, which put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you. {17} For indeed he accepted the exhortation; but being more forward, of his own accord he went unto you.

2 Corinthians 8:23 Whether any do enquire of Titus, he is my partner and fellowhelper concerning you: or our brethren be enquired of, they are the messengers of the churches, and the glory of Christ. {24} Wherefore shew ye to them, and before the churches, the proof of your love, and of our boasting on your behalf.

2 Corinthians 12:18 I desired Titus, and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus make a gain of you? walked we not in the same spirit? walked we not in the same steps?

Galatians 2:1-3 Then fourteen years after I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also. {2} And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain. {3} But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:

2 Timothy 4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

Titus 1:4-5 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour.{5} For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

Titus 1:1 "Paul, a servant of /\ God /\, and an apostle of M Jesus M T Christ T, according to the [ faith ] of /\ God's /\ elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;"

Paul: Saul means asked for and Paul means little or small. Paul is in Rome in prison and certainly needs the comfort and help of Timothy, but he cares for the church is of more importance. Paul's apostleship is shown in (1 Corinthians 9:1-2, 15:9-10). Paul has had plenty & little (Phil. 4:12). He has a close relationship with Titus calling him son in (Titus 1:4) and reminds him of ordaining Elder (Titus 1:5).

MISC: PAUL’S QUALIFICATIONS {2 CORINTHIANS 1:1 – 13:14} {TITUS 1:1}

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GOD’S CHOSE PAUL

(1) Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia: {2 Corinthians 1:1}

(2) Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; {2 Corinthians 1:21}

(3) Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. {2 Corinthians 3:6}

(4) Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; {2 Corinthians 4:1}

(5) And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; {2 Corinthians 5:18}

(6) But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, {2 Corinthians 6:4}

(7) Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. {2 Corinthians 11:15}

(8) Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. {2 Corinthians 11:23}

PAUL HAS HOLY SPIRIT

(1) Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts. {2 Corinthians 1:22}

(2) Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. 2 Corinthians 3:6

(3) Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. {2 Corinthians 3:17}

(4) But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. {2 Corinthians 3:18}

(5) We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; {2 Corinthians 4:13}

(6) Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. {2 Corinthians 5:5}

(7) By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned, {2 Corinthians 6:6}

(8) The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. {2 Corinthians 13:14}

PAUL DEPENDS ON GOD ALONE

(1) For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. {2 Corinthians 1:12}

(2) Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. {2 Corinthians 2:14}

(3) Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; {2 Corinthians 3:5}

(4) Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life. {2 Corinthians 3:6}

(5) But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. {2 Corinthians 4:7}

(6) We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. {2 Corinthians 6:1}

(7) Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; {2 Corinthians 8:1}

(8) And not that only, but who was also chosen of the churches to travel with us with this grace, which is administered by us to the glory of the same Lord, and declaration of your ready mind: {2 Corinthians 8:19}

(9) And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: {2 Corinthians 9:8}

(10) And by their prayer for you, which long after you for the exceeding grace of God in you. {2 Corinthians 9:14}

(11) And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. {2 Corinthians 12:9}

PAUL WAS GIVEN APOSTLE AUTHORITY

(1) Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you: {2 Corinthians 10:1}

(2) But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, wherewith I think to be bold against some, which think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. {2 Corinthians 10:2}

(3) For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: {2 Corinthians 10:3}

(4) (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) {2 Corinthians 10:4}

(5) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; {2 Corinthians 10:5}

(6) And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. {2 Corinthians 10:6}

(7) Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's. {2 Corinthians 10:7}

(8) For though I should boast somewhat more of our authority, which the Lord hath given us for edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed: {2 Corinthians 10:8}

(9) That I may not seem as if I would terrify you by letters. {2 Corinthians 10:9}

(10) For his letters, say they, are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible. {2 Corinthians 10:10}

(11) Let such an one think this, that, such as we are in word by letters when we are absent, such will we be also in deed when we are present. {2 Corinthians 10:11}

(12) I am become a fool in glorying; ye have compelled me: for I ought to have been commended of you: for in nothing am I behind the very chiefest apostles, though I be nothing. {2 Corinthians 12:11}

(13) Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds. {2 Corinthians 12:12}

(14) Therefore I write these things being absent, lest being present I should use sharpness, according to the power which the Lord hath given me to edification, and not to destruction. {2 Corinthians 13:10}

PAUL’S DIVINE VISIONS

(1) It is not expedient for me doubtless to glory. I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord. {2 Corinthians 12:1}

(2) I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven. {2 Corinthians 12:2}

(3) And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) {2 Corinthians 12:3}

(4) How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. {2 Corinthians 12:4}

(5) Of such an one will I glory: yet of myself I will not glory, but in mine infirmities. {2 Corinthians 12:5}

(6) For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. {2 Corinthians 12:6}

(7) And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. {2 Corinthians 12:7}

PAUL’S MINISTRY TO CORINTHIANS

(1) And to pass by you into Macedonia, and to come again out of Macedonia unto you, and of you to be brought on my way toward Judaea. {2 Corinthians 1:16}

(2) For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea. {2 Corinthians 1:19}

(3) For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. {2 Corinthians 4:15}

(4) Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you: {2 Corinthians 10:1}

5) For we stretch not ourselves beyond our measure, as though we reached not unto you: for we are come as far as to you also in preaching the gospel of Christ: {2 Corinthians 10:14}

(6) But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been thoroughly made manifest among you in all things. {2 Corinthians 11:6}

(7) Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds. {2 Corinthians 12:12}

(8) For what is it wherein ye were inferior to other churches, except it be that I myself was not burdensome to you? forgive me this wrong. {2 Corinthians 12:13}

(9) And lest, when I come again, my God will humble me among you, and that I shall bewail many which have sinned already, and have not repented of the uncleanness and fornication and lasciviousness which they have committed. {2 Corinthians 12:21}

PAUL LOVES THE CHURCH

(1) For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you. {2 Corinthians 2:4}

(2) Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: {2 Corinthians 3:2}

(3) Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart. {2 Corinthians 3:3}

(4) For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: {2 Corinthians 5:14}

(5) By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned, {2 Corinthians 6:6}

(6) O ye Corinthians, our mouth is open unto you, our heart is enlarged. {2 Corinthians 6:11}

(7) Ye are not straitened in us, but ye are straitened in your own bowels. {2 Corinthians 6:12}

(8) Now for a recompense in the same, (I speak as unto my children,) be ye also enlarged. {2 Corinthians 6:13}

(9) I speak not this to condemn you: for I have said before, that ye are in our hearts to die and live with you. {2 Corinthians 7:3}

(10) Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth. {2 Corinthians 11:11}

(11) And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved. {2 Corinthians 12:15}

PAUL’S BLAMELESS CHARACTER AND ACTIONS

(1) For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward. {2 Corinthians 1:12}

(2) But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. {2 Corinthians 4:2}

(3) Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: {2 Corinthians 6:3}

(4) But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, {2 Corinthians 6:4}

(5) Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man. {2 Corinthians 7:2}

(6) Avoiding this, that no man should blame us in this abundance which is administered by us: {2 Corinthians 8:20}

(7) Providing for honest things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men. {2 Corinthians 8:21}

(8) Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely? {2 Corinthians 11:7}

(9) I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service. {2 Corinthians 11:8}

(10) And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself. {2 Corinthians 11:9}

PAUL WAS TRUTHFUL

(1) But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay. {2 Corinthians 1:18}

(2) For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ. {2 Corinthians 2:17}

(3) But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. {2 Corinthians 4:2}

(4) By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, {2 Corinthians 6:7}

(5) By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true; {2 Corinthians 6:8}

(7) For if I have boasted any thing to him of you, I am not ashamed; but as we spake all things to you in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth. {2 Corinthians 7:14}

(8) As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia. {2 Corinthians 11:10}

(9) For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me. {2 Corinthians 12:6}

(10) Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds. {2 Corinthians 12:12}

(11) For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth. {2 Corinthians 13:8}

PAUL WAS PERSECUTED & SUFFERS FOR THE FAITH

(1) Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. {2 Corinthians 1:4}

(2) For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. {2 Corinthians 1:5}

(3) And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. {2 Corinthians 1:6}

(4) And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. {2 Corinthians 1:7}

(5) For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: {2 Corinthians 1:8}

(6) But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: {2 Corinthians 1:9}

(7) Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; {2 Corinthians 1:10}

(8) We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; {2 Corinthians 4:8}

(9) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; {2 Corinthians 4:9}

(10) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. {2 Corinthians 4:10}

(11) For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.{2 Corinthians 4:11}

(12) So then death worketh in us, but life in you. {2 Corinthians 4:12}

(13) But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, {2 Corinthians 6:4}

(14) In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; {2 Corinthians 6:5}

(15) As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed; {2 Corinthians 6:9}

(16) As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. {2 Corinthians 6:10}

(17) For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears. {2 Corinthians 7:5}

(18) In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me: {2 Corinthians 11:32}

(19) And through Who is weak a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands. {2 Corinthians 11:33}

PAUL’S INDIVIDUAL TRIALS

(1) We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; {2 Corinthians 4:8}

(2) Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; {2 Corinthians 4:9}

(3) Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. {2 Corinthians 4:10}

(4) For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. {2 Corinthians 4:11}

(5) So then death worketh in us, but life in you. {2 Corinthians 4:12}

(6) But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, {2 Corinthians 6:4}

(7) In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; {2 Corinthians 6:5}

(8) By pureness, by knowledge, by longsuffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned, {2 Corinthians 6:6}

(9) By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, {2 Corinthians 6:7}

(10) By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true; {2 Corinthians 6:8}

(11) As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed; {2 Corinthians 6:9}

(12) As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things. {2 Corinthians 6:10}

(13) Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. {2 Corinthians 11:23}

(14) Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. {2 Corinthians 11:24}

(15) Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; {2 Corinthians 11:25}

(16) In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; {2 Corinthians 11:26}

(17) In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. {2 Corinthians 11:27}

(18) Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches. {2 Corinthians 11:28}

(19), and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not? {2 Corinthians 11:29}

(20) If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities. {2 Corinthians 11:30}

(21) And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. {2 Corinthians 12:7}

(22) For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. {2 Corinthians 12:8}

(23) And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. {2 Corinthians 12:9}

(24) Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. {2 Corinthians 12:10}

(3) 1 Peter 5:5 "Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all <of you> be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble."

(4) 2 Peter 1:2 "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord," Grace multipled by knowledge of God

(5) 2 Peter 3:18 "But grow in grace, and <in> the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him <be> glory both now and for ever. Amen."

GOD GIVES ONLY LOVING KINDNESS TO UNBELIEVER: Only Christians receive God's grace starting with salvation making them God's children. God provides loving kindness to man so that he can exist.

(1) Matthew 5:45 "That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust." Loving kindness

(2) Acts 14:17 "Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness." Loving kindness

(3) 1 Timothy 6:17 "Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;" Loving kindness

MAN MAY FAIL TO RECEIVE GOD'S GRACE: God provides grace to only His Christians. Unbelievers do not receive grace in vain, are bitter & defiled, have wrong gospel, & deny Jesus.

(1) 2 Corinthians 6:1 "We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain." God is blessing, but the unbeliever is not receiving making the grace vain

(2) Galatians 1:6-7 "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: {7} Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ." To follow the wrong gospel removes the person from grace.

(3) Hebrews 12:15 "Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;" Bitterness leads to failed grace.

(4) Jude 1:4 "For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ." God's grace used wrong leads man to denying Christ.

God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: God is a Triunity. God can not be divided. Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit are the way the one God reveals himself. If one sees Jesus, he also sees the Father and the Holy Spirit at the same time since God can not be separated (Colossians 1:15). Jesus is both a perfect man and God. Jesus was always God, but at His birth become true man. However, in the plan of God, Jesus was true man before the world came into existence.

John 14:9-10 "Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou <then>, Show us the Father? {10} Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works."

2 Corinthians 13:14 "The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen." Triunity Godhead presented as equals.

Colossians 2:9 "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily."

LIST: GOD THE FATHER {JOHN 1:14 – 20:22} {TITUS 1:4}

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1) The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. {John 1:14}

(2) No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. {John 1:18}

(3) The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. {John 3:35}

(4) Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. {22} Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. {23} But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. {John 4:21-23}

(5) But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. {18} Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. {19} Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. {20} For the Father loveth the Son, and showeth him all things that himself doeth: and he will show him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. {21} For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. {22} For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: {23} That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. {24} Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. {25} Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. {6 } For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;" {John 5:17-26}

(6) I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. {John 5:30}

(6) But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. {37} And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. {John 5:36-37}

(8) Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. {John 5:45}

(9) Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed. {28} Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? {29} Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. {John 6:27-29}

(10) Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. {33} For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. {34} Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread. {35} And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. {36} But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not. {37} All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. {38} For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. {39} And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. {40} And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. {41} The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. {42} And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven? {43} Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves. {44} No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. {45} It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. {46} Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. {John 6:32-46}

(11) As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. {58} This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. {John 6:57-58}

(12) And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. {John 6:65}

(13) And yet if I judge, my judgment is true: for I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me. {17} It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two men is true. {18} I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me. {19} Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also. {John 8:16-19}

(14) They understood not that he spake to them of the Father. {28} Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things. {29} And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. {John 8:27-29}

(15) I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. {39} They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. {40} But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. {41} Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. {42} Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. {John 8:38-42}

(16) Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me. {John 8:49}

(17) Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself? {54} Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: {John 8:53-54}

(18) As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. {16} And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. {17} Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. {18} No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. {John 10:15-18}

(19) Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? {37} If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not. {38} But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him. {John 10:36-38}

(20) Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. {42} And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. {John 11:41-42}

(21) If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. {27} Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. {28} Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. {John 12:26-28}

(22) For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. {50} And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak. {1} Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. {2} And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him; {3} Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; {John 12:49-13:3}

(23) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. {7} If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. {8} Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. {9} Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? {10} Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. {11} Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. {12} Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. {13} And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. {14} If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. {15} If ye love me, keep my commandments. {16} And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; {John 14:6-16}

(24) At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. {21} He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. {22} Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? {23} Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. {24} He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. {25} These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. {26} But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. {27} Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. {28} Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. {29} And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. {30} Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me. {31} But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence. {1} I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. {John 14:20-15:1}

(25) Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. {9} As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. {John 15:8-9}

(26) Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. {16} Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. {John 15:15-16}

(27) He that hateth me hateth my Father also. {24} If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. {25} But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. {26} But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: {John 15:23-26}

(28) And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. {John 16:3}

(29) Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. {8} And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: {9} Of sin, because they believe not on me; {10} Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; {11} Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. {John 16:7-11}

(30) All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall show it unto you. {16} A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father. {17} Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father? {John 16:15-17}

(31) And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. {24} Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. {25} These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall show you plainly of the Father. {26} At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: {27} For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. {28} I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. {John 16:23-28}

(32) Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. {33} These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. {1} These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: {John 16:32-17:1}

(33) And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. {John 17:5}

(34) And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.{12} While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. {John 17:11-12}

(35) That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. {22} And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: {23} I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. {24} Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. {25} O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. {26} And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. {John 17:21-26}

(36) Then said Jesus unto Peter, Put up thy sword into the sheath: the cup which my Father hath given me, shall I not drink it? {John 18:11}

(37) Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God. {John 20:17}

(38) Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. {22} And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: {John 20:21-22}

This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. {1 Timothy 3:1} A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; {1 Timothy 3:2} Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; {1 Timothy 3:3} One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; {1 Timothy 3:4} (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) {1 Timothy 3:5} Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. {1 Timothy 3:6} Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. {1 Timothy 3:7}

ELDERS AMONG YOU EXHORT, FEED THE FLOCK OF GOD, TAKING THE OVERSIGHT WILLINGLY, NOT FOR FILTHY LUCRE, BUT OF A READY MIND; NOT AS LORDS OVER GOD'S HERITAGE, BEING ENSAMPLES TO THE FLOCK, YOUNGER, SUBMIT YOURSELVES UNTO THE ELDER. YEA, ALL <OF YOU> BE SUBJECT ONE TO ANOTHER, BE CLOTHED WITH HUMILITY: FOR GOD RESISTETH THE PROUD, AND GIVETH GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.

The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: {1 Peter 5:1} Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; {1 Peter 5:2} Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. {1 Peter 5:3} And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. {1 Peter 5:4} Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all <of you> be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. {1 Peter 5:5}

THE TWELVE CALLED THE BELIVERS THAT WE SHOULD NOT LEAVE THE WORD OF GOD AND SERVE TABLES, LOOK FOR SEVEN MEN FULL OF THE HOLY GHOST AND WISDOM, TO APPOINT OVER THIS BUSINESS, WE WILL CONTINUALLY IN PRAYER AND MINISTRY OF THE WORD

Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.{Acts 6:2} Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. {Acts 6:3} But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. {Acts 6:4}

THE FLOCK, THE HOLY GHOST MADE YOU OVERSEERS FEED THE CHURCH OF GOD, PURCHASED WITH HIS OWN BLOOD, FOR AFTER MY DEPARTING, GRIEVOUS WOLVES NOT SPARING THE FLOCK

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. {Acts 20:28} For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. {Acts 20:29}

LET THE ELDERS THAT RULE BE COUNTED OF DOUBLE HONOUR, WHO LABOUR IN THE WORD AND DOCTRINE, THE SCRIPTURE SAITH, THOU SHALT NOT MUZZLE THE OX THAT TREADETH OUT THE CORN, THE LABOURER IS WORTHY OF REWARD, AGAINST AN ELDER ACCUSATION, BEFORE TWO OR THREE WITNESSES, THEM THAT SIN REBUKE, SO OTHERS MAY FEAR, OBSERVE THESE THINGS WITHOUT PREFERRING, DOING NOTHING BY PARTIALITY.

Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. {1 Timothy 5:17} For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward. {1 Timothy 5:18} Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses. {1 Timothy 5:19} Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. {1 Timothy 5:20} I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality. {1 Timothy 5:21}

REMEMBER THEM HAVING THE RULE OVER YOU, WHO HAVE SPOKEN UNTO YOU THE WORD OF GOD, WHOSE FAITH FOLLOW, CONSIDERING THE END OF THEIR CONVERSATION

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PASTORS: Shepherd's & teacher's the flock for perfecting of saints.

The Church officers of Elder, Overseer, Presbyter, Bishop, Pastor and Shepherd are all similar positions. One may study Bible more.

Acts 20:28 "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood." (1 Peter 5:2: feed - shepherd and oversight - overseer)

Overseer is the same Greek word Bishop used in Philippians 1:1, 1 Timothy 3:2, Titus 1:7 and 1 Peter 2:25. Also called Elder in

Acts 14:23 which is the same position as Bishop and Presbyters as found in 1 Timothy 4:14 and 1 Timothy 5:17. "To feed" is the same Greek word as shepherd. Pastor is found in Ephesians 4:11 and is the Greek word for shepherd. The shepherd is the one into whose care the sheep (flock) have been committed for feeding, caring, and protection for growth to maturity. The purpose of the different words are as follows: Elder indicates a mature spiritual experienced person in a position of authority. Bishop indicates the character of the work undertaken as overseer or guardian. Shepherd or Pastor indicates the function or responsibility of watching, teaching, and guiding the flock.

Titus 1:5-9 "For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: {6} If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly. {7} For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; {8} But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; {9} Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers."

1 Peter 5:1-5 "The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: {2} Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight <thereof>, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; {3} Neither as being lords over <God's> heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. {4} And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. {5} Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all <of you> be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Titus 1:6 "If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly."

Blameless, husband of one wife. children not accused of riot/unruly: Only one wife. Wives death or Matthew 19:9 maybe only exceptions.

Genesis 2:24 "Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh." One flesh (person) not two people with separate purposes.

Mark 10:9 "What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." Asunder = separate

1 Timothy 3:2 "A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;" Bishop (male only) is a husband.

Titus 1:7 "For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of /\ God /\; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre;"

Bishop: (= overseer = elder from 1 Peter 5:1-2 and Acts 20:17, 28)

1 Timothy 3:1 "This <is> a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work."

1 Peter 2:25 "For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls."

Blameless: Do all the correct things, spotless & righteousness.

Selfwilled: He should be God willed.

Not given to wine:

1 Timothy 3:3 "Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;"

1 Timothy 5:23 "Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities." Paul is telling Timothy to use a little wine because water quality is poor.

No striker: Not getting into fights. Peace loving.

Given to filthy lucre: Lucre = money

1 Timothy 6:10 "For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

Titus 1:8 "But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;"

Temperate: Moderate, restrained and reasonable.

WHAT: SOUND DOCTRINE - EXHORT / CONVINCE

Titus 1:9 "Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers."

By sound doctrine:

Matthew 24:24 "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."

Acts 20:30 "Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them."

Romans 16:17 "Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them."

Galatians 1:6-7 "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: {7} Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ."

Ephesians 4:14 "That we <henceforth> be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, <and> cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;"

Colossians 2:8 "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ."

2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All scripture <is> given by inspiration of God, and <is> profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: {17} That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

2 Timothy 4:3 "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;"

Titus 2:7 "In all things showing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,"

Hebrews 13:9 "Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein."

2 John 1:9-10 "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. {10} If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:"

Cretians <are> always liars, evil beasts, slow bellies: Proverb from Paul's days. This is not a quote from Old Testament scriptures.

Romans 16:18 "For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple."

1 Timothy 4:2 "Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;"

Titus 1:13 "This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the [ faith ];"

WANT: NOT HEED JEWISH FABLES & COMMANDMENTS OF MEN

Titus 1:14 "Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of they may be sound in the men, that turn from the truth."

Jewish fables: The Pharisees made 613 laws to protect the people from breaking God's true laws.

Titus 3:9 "But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain."

See my paper: "What Does God Really Want?" WHAT LAWS OF GOD ARE CHRISTIANS TO FOLLOW. SHOWN ARE STEPS TO RECEIVE GOD FORGIVENESS for more information on this subject.

Defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure...conscience is defiled:

Matthew 7:17-18 "Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. {18} A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither <can> a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit."

Titus 1:16 "They profess that they know /\ God /\; but in [ works ] they deny </\ him /\>, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good [ work ] reprobate."

(5) Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; {Titus 3:5}

(6) This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. {Titus 3:8}

(7) And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful. {Titus 3:14}

Ephesians 5:22-24 "Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. {23} For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. {24} Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so <let> the wives <be> to their own husbands in every thing."

MISC: JESUS THE WORD OF GOD {JOHN 1:1 – 17:17} (TITUS 2:5}

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God {John 1:1}

(2) And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth {John 1:14}

(3) For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.{John 3:34}

(4) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. {John 5:24}

(5) And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. {39} Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. {John 5:38-39}

(6) For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. {47} But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words? {John 5:46-47}

(7) It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. {John 6:63}

(8) Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. {69} And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. {John 6:68-69}

(9) As he spake these words, many believed on him. {31} Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; {32} And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. {John 8:30-32}

(10) He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. {John 8:47}

(11) Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? {35} If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; {John 10:34-35}

(12) And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. {48} He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day {John 12:47-48}

(13) He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. {49} For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. {John 12:48-49}

(14) Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. {11} Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. {John 14:10-11}

(15) Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. {24} He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. {John 14:23-24}

(16) Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. {John 15:3}

(17) If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. {John 15:7}

(18) But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. {John 15:25}

(19) I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. {8} For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. {John 17:6, 8}

(20) I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. {17} Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. {John 17:14, 17}

Colossians 3:22 "Servants, obey in all things <your> masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God:" Singleness = sincere & honesty.

1 Timothy 6:1-2 "Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and <his> doctrine be not blasphemed. {2} And they that have believing masters, let them not despise <them>, because they are brethren; but rather do <them> service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort."

1 Peter 2:18 "Servants, <be> subject to <your> masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward."

KEEP THE WORD:

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. {7} Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. {8} For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. {John 17:6-8}

WITH BOLDNESS SPEAK THE WORD OF GOD:

And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, {30} By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. {31} And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. {32} And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. {33} And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. {Acts 4:29-33}

MAKE NOT PROVISION FOR THE FLESH:

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. {12} The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. {13} Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. {14} But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof" {Romans 13:11-14}

RUN THE RACE: Deny and discipline yourselves for heavenly prize

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. {24} And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they <do it> to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible. {25} I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: {26} But I keep under my body, and bring <it> into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. {1 Corinthians 9:24-27}

ALL THINGS FOR SAINTS: Looking for eternal unseen things

For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. {16} For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. {17} For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; {18} While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. {2 Corinthians 4:15-18}

DO GOOD TOWARDS OTHERS: Sow and reap for good spiritual life

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. {Matthew 7:12}

And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. {Luke 6:31}

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. {8} For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. {9} And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. {10} As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. {Galatians 6:7-10}

FIGHT THE CHRISTIAN LIFE: Standing against Satan for all perseverance and supplication for all the saints

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. {11} Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. {12} For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.{13} Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. {14} Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; {15} And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; {16} Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. {17} And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: {18} Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; {Ephesians 6:10-18}

PRESS FOWARDS: Towards the prize of high calling of God in Christ Jesus

Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. {13} Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, {14} I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. {Philippians 3:12-14}

BE NOT MOVED: Fulfill Word of God of mystery manifested to the saints

If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; {24} Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up that which is behind of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh for his body's sake, which is the church: {25} Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; {26} Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: {Colossians 1:23-26}

LIVE IN FAITH AND LOVE WITH HOPE OF SALVATION:

But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. {9} For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, {10} Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. {11} Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. {1 Thessalonians 5:8-11}

GROW IN FAITH:

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; {4} So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: {5} Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer: {2 Thessalonians 1:3-5}

FIGHT THE GOOD FAITH FIGHT:

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. {13} I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession; {14} That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: {15} Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; {1 Timothy 6:12-15}

ENDURE FIGHT: For others to obtain the salvation in Christ Jesus with eternal glory

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. {4} No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. {5} And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully. {6} The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits. {7} Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. {8}Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel: {9} Wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound. {10} Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. {2 Timothy 2:3-10}

BE RENEWED IN THE HOLY GHOST:

But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, {5} Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; {6} Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; {7} That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. {Titus 3:4-7}

LOVE AND FAITH TOWARDS GOD AND SAINTS:

I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, {5} Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; {6} That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. {7} For we have great joy and consolation in thy love, because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by thee, brother. {Philemon 1:4-7}

RUN WITH PATIENCE:

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, {2} Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. {3} For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. {4} Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. {Hebrews 12:1-4}

ESTABLISH YOUR HEART:

Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. {9} Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. {10} Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. {11} Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. {James 5:8-11}

SPEAK AS ORACLES OF GOD:

If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. {12} Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: {13} But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. {14} If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. {1 Peter 4:11-14}

PARTAKERS OF THE DIVINE NATURE:

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. {5} And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; {6} And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; {7} And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. {8} For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. {2 Peter 1:4-8}

LOVE NOT THE WORLD:

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. {16} For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. {17} And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. {1 John 2:15-17}

LOVE ONE ANOTHER:

I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. {5} And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. {6} And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. {7} For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. {2 John 1:4}

WALK IN TRUTH:

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. {5} Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers; {6} Which have borne witness of thy charity before the church: whom if thou bring forward on their journey after a godly sort, thou shalt do well: {7} Because that for his name's sake they went forth, taking nothing of the Gentiles. {3 John 1:4-7}

BUILD UP YOURSELVES:

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, {21} Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. {22} And of some have compassion, making a difference: {23} And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. {24} Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, {Jude 1:20-24}

HOLD FAST:

Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. {11} Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown. {12} Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. {Revelation 3:10-12}

RESULTS:

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. {7} I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: {8} Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. {2 Timothy 4:6-8}

Titus 3:1 "Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good [ work ],"

Subject to principalities & powers, to obey magistrates:

Romans 13:1-2 "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. {2} Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation."

See my paper: "The Christian Position on Civil Authority & Nonresistance" CHRISTIANITY TEACH LOVE, NONRESISTANCE & OBEY AUTHORITY for more information on this subject.

Titus 3:2 "To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, <but> gentle, showing all meekness unto all men." Brawlers =

Showing all meekness unto all men:

Colossians 3:12-13 "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; {13} Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also <do> ye."

Titus 3:3 "For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, <and> hating one another." Divers=vary

We ourselves also were sometimes foolish:

Ephesians 2:1-3 "And you <hath he quickened>, who were dead in trespasses and sins: {2} Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: {3} Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(1) And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.{33} And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost {John 1:32-33}

(8) Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you {8} And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment {9} Of sin, because they believe not on me {10} Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more {John 16:7-10}

(9) Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come {14} He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall show it unto you {John 16:13-14}

(10) And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost {John 20:22}

(I) Prophecy:

(1) {Ephesians 3:5} Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;

(II) Ministry:

(1) {Romans 12:7} Or ministry, <let us wait> on <our> ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;

(2) {2 Timothy 4:2} Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

(III) Teaching:

(1) {Colossians 1:28} Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

(IV) Exhorting:

(1) {Romans 12:8} Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, <let him do it> with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness.

(2) {Hebrews 10:25} Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

(V) Giving:

(1) {2 Corinthians 9:7} Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

(2) {1 Peter 4:10} As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

(VI) Ruler:

(1) {Hebrews 13:17} Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

(2) {1 Peter 5:3} Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.

(VII) Shows mercy:

(1) {Romans 11:31} Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.
