This paper discusses the book of 1st John. Both John & First John have many expressions in common making 1st John a companion to the gospel book. John the apostle was the last of the twelve apostles alive. At the time of this writing, John was the last apostle with personal experience of a relationship to the divine Jesus. E) JOHN: His name means Lord of grace or whom the Lord graciously gave. He was referred to as the disciple that Jesus loved. His books reference love many times. He is the third of the closest disciples to Jesus. He is also one of the three pillars of the church, Paul refers to in Galatians 2:9. He wrote John, 1st John, 2nd John, 3rd John, & Revelation. John was the Last book of the Bible written.
